Mater Dei High School continues to reign as the top-ranked team in the Orange County Sportswriters’ Assn. high school baseball poll.
La Quinta (15-3-1) moves from sixth place to second, and last week’s second-place team, Mission Viejo, drops to ninth after losing consecutive games to Capistrano Valley.
In the featured game of the week, fifth-ranked Kennedy will play host to La Quinta at 3:15 p.m. Friday in Garden Grove League play.
