Christian 8, Lincoln 3--Sophomore left-hander David Piester (4-0) pitched a complete game and went one for two with two RBIs for Christian (6-9, 4-4).
St. Augustine 7, San Diego 3--Mark Jackson had seven strikeouts and held San Diego to five hits for his third victory in four decisions. Mike Mossuto was two for four with a triple and four RBIs to lead St. Augustine (3-4, 8-10).
City Eastern League
Mira Mesa 6, Patrick Henry 0--Travis Arnold (7-1) shut down Patrick Henry on three hits. Brendan Hause had a two-run homer in the third, and Jeff Dunn had a bases-empty homer in the sixth for No. 3 Mira Mesa (16-2, 8-0). Beau Champoux was three for three with a triple and two RBIs.
Madison 11, Morse 1-- Pete Valdez went three for four with a homer and two RBIs, and Matt Lee supported his four-hitter with a three-for-three day for Madison (14-5, 6-2).
Serra 3, Point Loma 2--C.J. Meyer pitched a four-hitter and struck out five for Serra (6-12, 2-6).
City Western League
Kearny 10, La Jolla 4--Rob Fragoso got his first victory in six decisions and helped himself with two doubles and two RBIs. Freshman Matt Whitcomb was three for four with three RBIs for Kearny (2-5, 4-14).
University of San Diego High School 9, University City 3--Gavin Millay allowed just three hits, and USDHS scored five runs in the first inning for the victory at home. Tom Tate had a two-run double in the first, and Gary Remiker had a two-out, two-run single in the third for USDHS (6-1, 14-3).
Mission Bay 4, Claremont 3--Three walks, an error and a hit batsmen in the bottom of the seventh gave Mission Bay (15-3, 6-1) two runs and a comeback victory. J.T. Thomas struck out three and walked none for the victory, and Pat Betincourt was two for four with a stolen base.
Nonleague
Monte Vista 7, Grossmont 6--Monte Vista scored six runs in the fourth for the victory at Grossmont. Monte Vista led, 7-3, but John Tatum got Grossmont within a run with a three-run homer in the bottom half of the inning. Greg Layson hit a two-run homer in the third as Grossmont led, 3-1.
Helix 13, Valhalla 6--Joey Smithey had a three-run homer in the seventh as No. 8 Helix won at Valhalla. Gary Mahler (5-1) was the winner for Helix (14-4). Jason Ledford was three for five with a double, and Rich Haar and Erik West had two hits apiece.
El Capitan 7, El Cajon 3--Dan Freeman went two for four with an RBI, and Jerry McGarity picked up the save and had a two-run double in the seventh for El Capitan (12-5, 2-1).
Santana 5, Mt. Miguel 3--Darrin Forster hit a base-empty homer and Kyle Seeback went two for four with an RBI for Santana (9-6-1, 1-1).
