HOUSTON — Continental Airlines dropped summer children’s air fares today to as low as $1 round trip, reductions the carrier said could save families up to 55% on their total summer air travel.
“We’ve rewritten the book on children’s summer air fares today,” said Continental spokesman David Messing. “Summer is the time of year when everyone plans a big vacation trip with the kids. For a typical family with two kids, each of those kids can now travel for as low as $1.”
A limited number of the reduced fares are available for purchase now through May 26 for travel June 1 through Sept. 10. They can be purchased for children ages 2 to 17 when traveling with an adult who has bought a Continental MaxSaver ticket, the airline said.
The special fares are non-refundable, although Continental said families will be allowed to change reservations once at no charge if the destination remains the same and appropriate discount seats are available.
