Police Kill Man During Scuffle

A San Diego police officer shot and killed a 32-year-old man Saturday night during a narcotics investigation in the 4900 block of Logan Avenue, a police spokesman said.
Stanley P. Buchanan, of Southeast San Diego, was being interviewed by members of the department’s narcotics unit when a “scuffle” erupted, the spokesman said. Buchanan was shot when he “armed himself with a blunt object” and attempted to strike one of the officers, the spokesman said. The shooting occurred in an apartment at 4985 Logan Avenue.
