A man accused of abusing his girlfriend’s twin boys and abandoning them in a Del Mar hotel pleaded not guilty Tuesday to various charges.
Charles Thomas McCoy, 27, was returned to San Diego on Monday night after he waived extradition proceedings in Nevada, where he was arrested April 12.
McCoy had been charged with child abandonment, child abuse and inflicting corporal punishment on the boys, now in a foster home.
The district attorney’s office added two counts of child molestation and another of child abuse to McCoy’s charges at his arraignment.
Both McCoy and the boys’ mother, Dorothy DeSimone, 25, face a preliminary hearing May 9.
Bail for McCoy was set at $500,000 by San Diego Municipal Judge Lillian Quon.
