DALLAS — Comedian Jay Leno says he has a special memory of meeting legendary late prankster Lucille Ball.
Leno said he was walking along Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, when he spotted Ball leaning against a building, waiting for her husband to pull up in their car.
Leno said he sneaked up beside her and said: “Look, baby, if you’re going to work this side of the street, you’re going to have to show a little more skin than that.”
Ball turned around and screamed.
“She was laughing so hard,” Leno said. “It’s something I’ll never forget.”
Leno, who appears Saturday in Dallas, stays busy with club dates, concerts, commercials and filling in for Johnny Carson on “The Tonight Show.”
