BATON ROUGE, La. — Even though his ninth-ranked Tigers defeated Cal State Los Angeles, 82-57, Friday night, Louisiana State Coach Dale Brown was so displeased that he ordered a postgame workout for his team at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
LSU’s All-American sophomore guard, Chris Jackson, was held to a career-low 11 points, 20 below his average.
Stanley Roberts, a 7-foot sophomore, scored 24 points and had 18 rebounds for LSU (4-1). Shaquille O’Neal, a 7-foot freshman, had 22 points and 11 rebounds for the Tigers.
Darron Jackson scored 23 points for Cal State Los Angeles (3-3), which doesn’t have a player taller than 6-6.
LSU had a 59-20 advantage in rebounds, but was outshot, 10-3, from three-point range.
