Japan’s LPGA Offers $12 Million in Purses

TOKYO — The Japan Ladies Professional Golfers’ Assn. 1990 tour will offer a record $12 million in prize money for its 39 tournaments, one more than last season.
Prize money is up $1.3 million from 1989 on the tour that starts March 2 with the $345,000 Daikin Orchid tournament on Okinawa.
The tour’s richest tournament will be the Mazda Classic, an official United States LPGA event, which offers $550,000.
