San Jose State Shoots Poorly but Wins

San Jose State shot only 41.3% from the field and made just 12 of 30 free-throw attempts, but the Spartans still beat Idaho State, 65-57, Saturday night in a nonconference game at San Jose.
Ken Young had game-high totals of 21 points and 11 rebounds to lead San Jose State (3-4). The Spartans, who trailed at halftime, 36-33, took the lead for good at 56-54 with 5:51 left on a basket by Terry Cannon.
Reserve forward Aaron Grizzell led the Bengals with 15 points. The loss was the third in a row for the Bengals (3-4).
