Pico Rivera : Crackdown Will Begin on Inoperative Parked Vehicles

Beginning Tuesday, code enforcement personnel will begin looking for inoperative vehicles parked on streets or stored on residential front lawns in Pico Rivera.
When such a vehicle is located, the registered owner as well as the property owner will be notified by a certified letter from the city explaining that city code requires the vehicles to be removed or stored in a garage. If the vehicles are not removed within 14 days, the city has the authority to tow away the vehicles to be sold for scrap.
The purpose of the program is to build on the efforts of the Pico Rivera Redevelopment Agency and the City Council to improve the quality of life in the city.
The program will be a coordinated effort between the departments of Planning and Public Works. Questions should be directed to the Planning Department at 942-2000.
