A memorial service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Lake Hills Community Church in Laguna Hills for Walter Ris, a former Olympic Games gold medalist in swimming, who died Dec. 25.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that all donations be sent to the University of Iowa, Alumni Center, Iowa City, Iowa.
