A bandit who handed a teller a note demanding to be given hundred-, fifty- and twenty-dollar bills, escaped with about $1,000 from the downtown Great American First Savings Bank, 600 B Street, Wednesday morning, bank officials said.
After taking the money, the bandit fled, using the 6th Avenue exit of the bank. No weapons were seen, and no one was injured, police said.
