PREP SOCCER ROUNDUP : Heimer’s Late Goal Gets Orange Past Laguna Hills

Ricky Heimer scored on a breakaway with five minutes remaining to give host Orange High School a 2-1 victory over Laguna Hills in a Pacific Coast League soccer match Wednesday.
Juan Viveroz had a first-half goal and the assist on Heimer’s goal for Orange (7-0-2 overall, 4-0 in league play). Brian Slayback had a first-half goal for Laguna Hills (9-3-1, 3-1).
In Garden Grove League soccer:
La Quinta 3, Pacifica 0--Chris Doherty had two goals and Mike Berg added a goal for La Quinta (5-7-2, 1-0-2).
In boys’ nonleague soccer:
Esperanza 3, Canyon 1--Brian Shoup scored in the first half and Mike Voss had two goals in the second to break a 1-1 halftime score for host Esperanza (8-3-3). Fred Velez scored for Canyon.
Mission Viejo 1, Foothill 0--Adam Toal scored for host Mission Viejo (5-5-3).
In girls’ nonleague soccer:
Marina 1, Millikan 0--Freshman Amy Peterson scored in the first half for host Marina (5-4-1). Goalie Cristin Rossman had six saves for Marina.
