Construction has begun on the first office building in the $1-billion MacArthur Place development in Santa Ana. The 11-story limestone and polished granite building, a project of BCE Development Inc., will be joined later by twin seven-story Gateway Buildings, a five-story structure and two 20-story towers. They will form a quadrangle along the main entry into the complex. MacArthur Place, located within Santa Ana’s redevelopment area, will also have residential, hotel and retail areas, as well as a three-acre water garden and a park within its 66 acres. The project is scheduled for completion in 10 to 15 years.
