WORLD : Cuba Hits U.S. Drug Fleet Plans

HAVANA — Cuba today condemned U.S. plans to station an aircraft carrier group off Colombia to monitor drug traffic, saying it would be an act of aggression against not only Colombia but all of Latin America as well.
The Cuban Foreign Ministry said the United States, in announcing the plan so soon after its invasion of Panama, was ignoring international law and “assuming the trans-national power to decide what is good or bad for our countries.”
