PREP SOCCER ROUNDUP : Fountain Valley Loses, 2-1, to Edison Girls

Alysson Gibbs and Jennifer Lachman scored to lift Edison High School to a 2-1 victory over host Fountain Valley Thursday in a Sunset League girls’ soccer match.
Nikki Turner had nine saves for Edison (7-3-4 overall, 2-0 in league play).
In other Sunset League girls’ play:
Marina 5, Huntington Beach 0--Amy Peterson had three goals and Tricia Rossman two for host Marina (7-4-1, 2-0).
Ocean View 3, Westminster 1--Michelle Garay, Kristie Engesser and Jennifer Holdridge scored for visiting Ocean View.
In the Empire League:
Esperanza 4, El Dorado 1--Jennifer Gulden scored twice to lead host Esperanza (17-2, 3-0).
Loara 1, Katella 1--Cristy Rowe scored for Loara, and Dani Taylor scored for host Katella. In the Garden Grove League:
La Quinta 5, Rancho Alamitos 0--Stefanie Stucker had three goals for visiting La Quinta (7-3, 2-0).
Kennedy 6, Bolsa Grande 0--Stacy Darrin, Adrienne Coan, Tracey Van Herk, Lori Van Herk, Angie LaCarte and Krista Darrin scored for Kennedy (9-3, 2-0).
In the Orange League:
Brea-Olinda 3, Western 0--Sandy Knechtle scored twice for visiting Brea-Olinda (4-8-2, 1-0).
In the Olympic League:
Orange Lutheran 6, Whittier Christian 0--Amber Parkinson had two goals for host Orange Lutheran (6-2-2, 1-1-2).
In the Pacific Coast League:
Woodbridge 1, Orange 0--Mindy Hawley scored for host Woodbridge (8-3-1, 1-0).
In the Sea View League:
Corona del Mar 9, Saddleback 1--Suzy Peters, Tracy Schriber and Kristen Borland each had two goals for host Corona del Mar (10-5-3, 2-0).
In the South Coast League:
Dana Hills 3, San Clemente 0--Jen Koenig, Molly Sullivan and Shelby McKay scored for host Dana Hills (13-2-1, 2-1).
In an Angelus League boys’ match:
Servite 4, St. Paul 2--Brandon Murdoch, Gary Schoeman, Lenny Romero and Ryan Albert scored for host Servite (7-9, 2-0).
