Ernest Hartman’s Storm Prince will be gunning for his third straight tally over the best pacers on the West Coast when he tackles a field of five in the $15,000 Invitational Saturday night at Los Alamitos.
The field, in post position order: Anatolian Story, Jim Grundy in the race bike; Ever So Rich, D. R. Ackerman; Winning Night, Rick Plano; Calvery Officer, Gene Vallandingham; Direct Quote, Ross Croghan, and Storm Prince, Jim Morand.
The co-feature, also worth $15,000, is the Invitational Trot, with six horses entered. Googie, who had a horrid trip last week, will be out to make amends in this race. The Jim Grundy-reined and trained 5-year-old will battle Alfa Star, Jigglin Joe, Thadrow, Swiss Connection and Magic Moose.
First post Saturday will be 7:30 p.m.
