AIDS HOSPICE: A groundbreaking ceremony will be held Wednesday at the site of the nation’s first hospice designed specifically to serve black and Latino AIDS victims. The ceremony will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. at 2146 W. Adams Blvd.
SENATE FORUM: Candidates vying to replace Republican state Sen. William Campbell, whose 31st District includes portions of Los Angeles and Orange counties, will speak at a forum Wednesday evening at the La Habra City Council chambers.
SNOW DAY: Never mind what the weather report says. It will snow in Cerritos on Wednesday. For the eighth consecutive year, 10 tons of ice will be shredded into snow and dumped on the parking lot at Gahr High School for about 300 youngsters and their parents. The annual Snow Day is sponsored by the ABC Unified School District.
ETHNIC COMPLAINTS: Emerging ethnic groups representing the Cambodian , Armenian, Arab, Guatemalan, Iranian, Russian-Jewish, Samoan, Tongan, Salvadoran and Ethiopian communities are scheduled to testify Thursday at the Glendale City Council chambers in a public hearing called by the Los Angeles County Commission on Human Relations. Representatives of these groups have complained that government services are not meeting their custom and language needs.
