Proposition 73 and Bill Press
I am shocked by the duplicity of Press, who continues his role as a KABC commentator after filing forms on which he explicitly states he seeks the office of insurance commissioner.
It is not only questionable legally, but violates our sense of fair play, ethical standards and credibility. All candidates should adhere both legally and ethically to the highest standard, but it is especially deplorable for a candidate for the new citizen-created post of insurance commissioner.
He looks like a candidate, he debates like a candidate and he is raising money like a candidate. So why is this candidate still enjoying the advantage of a public forum that his role on KABC affords him? If he doesn’t have the ethical standards and sensitivity to resign, citizens should demand that KABC take responsibility for the situation.
