IRVINE : Woman, 66, Dies When Car Hits Tree

A 66-year-old Orange woman was killed Sunday afternoon when she lost control of her car and rammed into a tree, police said. Pauline Evelynn Jauregui was pronounced dead at the scene.
She was driving east on Michaelson Drive in Irvine when she lost control of her car, police said. They said the car jumped a curb and traveled 380 feet before hitting the tree, near Elm Tree Lane in front of the Village Park Recreation Center. Police estimated her speed at 55 to 60 m.p.h. The area has a speed limit of 35.
