Dynatech Wins Contract With Northwest Airlines

Dynatech Microwave Technology in Calabasas said it has been awarded a contract to supply Northwest Airlines with electric switches for aircraft collision-avoidance systems that will be installed on Northwest jets.
Dynatech said the contract exceeds $200,000, but did not release other details of the award. The switch, slightly larger than a cigarette pack, typically costs between $400 and $700.
The U.S. government has ordered commercial airlines to install the system, formally called the Traffic Alert and Collision Avoidance System, or TCAS. Dynatech’s switch enables a jet to call on a backup TCAS system if the main system fails.
