IRVINE : Administrators Granted Pay Raise

The Irvine Unified School District Board of Trustees has voted to give top administrators a 12% pay raise, 6% a year for two years.

“The raise paralleled those given the teachers and classified personnel,” said Paul Reed, deputy superintendent for business services. Teachers were given 6% raises each year for three years in November and classified, or non-certificated, employees have been given 6% raises for the next two years, Reed said.

The increase pushed the salary of Supt. David Brown to $91,584 a year, Reed said. The four other top district administrators and their current salaries are Bruce Givner, deputy superintendent for special education, $80,779; Dean Waldfogel, assistant superintendent for curriculum, $79,285; Reed, $77,848; and Susan Long, assistant superintendent for personnel, $76,627. All raises were retroactive to July 1, 1989, the beginning of the fiscal year.
