SOUTHLAND : Paula Abdul’s Home Burglarized

Pop singer Paula Abdul, who won two American Music Awards on Monday, went home this morning to find she had lost about $40,000 worth of property in a burglary of her Studio City home, Los Angeles police said.
Abdul returned to her home about 1 a.m. after attending the nationally televised awards show at the Shrine Auditorium and found that someone had broken in, Lt. Ron LaRue said.
LaRue said “jewelry and other miscellaneous property” was taken but declined to further describe the loss.
No suspects were arrested, and detectives have not determined whether the break-in was random or the work of a burglar who knew that Abdul lived in the house and would be attending the awards program.
Abdul, a former Los Angeles Lakers cheerleader whose debut album has sold 4 million copies, won American Music Awards for favorite pop-rock female vocalist and favorite dance artist.
