DALLAS — Forward Roy Tarpley, who was suspended in November for violating a substance-abuse after care program, Monday was reinstated to the Dallas Mavericks by ASAP Family Treatment Program of Van Nuys.
He is expected to play Friday night against the Sacramento Kings.
Tarpley missed 34 games and lost more than $240,000 for failure to adhere to his NBA-mandated program.
Dr. M. David Lewis, ASAP director and Tarpley’s physician, approved Tarpley’s return.
The Mavericks said Tarpley will practice today but will not play tonight against the Washington Bullets.
