Morgan Stanley Group: The New York-based securities firm’s 1989 profit advanced 12% to $443 million as revenue climbed 11% to $2.45 billion. Fourth-quarter net income jumped 37% to $148.6 million from the year-ago period on revenue of $704.5 million, up 18.4%. The company cited strength and diversification in all its segments, including its financial advisory business, underwriting, merchant banking, sales and trading activities, asset management, and global clearing and custodial services.
