An El Cajon man was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of kidnaping an East San Diego resident Monday night, possibly in retaliation for a weekend drive-by shooting, police said.
According to police, a man was seen forcing Jeffrey Haymes at gunpoint from his Pennington Lane home into a car.
Jesus Alberto Reyes of El Cajon was arrested at his apartment in the 600 block of Prescott Avenue after he was seen with a rifle in the living room. No injuries were reported. Haymes was in the apartment and was freed, police said.
Police said other suspects are being sought.
Police said a drive-by shooting, in which no one was injured, occurred at the Prescott Avenue residence early Saturday.
