Tyrrell on Jesse Jackson
As a Democrat I too have been very worried for a long time about Jackson. He is not the same person he was 10-15 years ago when I held him in such high-esteem for his promotion of black pride.
It’s a different Jackson today. His present political agenda reflects the most extreme left-wing tirades; blame society, get what you can from government, de-emphasize individual responsibility, and attack U.S. foreign policy, such as siding with the terrorist Palestinians against our ally, Israel.
Surely the Democrats can do better than this. If Jackson becomes their presidential nominee, he won’t only be soundly defeated, but I can’t see much future for the Democratic Party.
