COLLEGE ROUNDUP : CSUN Women Fall to Pomona in Battle for 1st

Cal Poly Pomona took over sole possession of first place in the California Collegiate Athletic Assn. women’s basketball standings with a convincing 70-52 victory over Cal State Northridge at Poly Pavilion on Friday night.
Ranked No. 2 in the NCAA Division II, the Broncos (15-3, 4-0 in conference play) handed the Lady Matadors (6-13) their first conference loss after three consecutive victories.
Marcine Edmonds scored 18 points, 16 in the second half, to lead Pomona.
Northridge, which trailed, 35-23, at halftime, was led by Denna Mulverhill with 22 points and 19 rebounds, both game highs.
