Informed View of Shootings by Police Officers
- Share via
It was with great interest that my fellow officers and I read Michael Mohon’s opinion regarding police shootings in Orange County (Letters, Jan. 21).
Mohon is certainly qualified to comment, having been shot five times by a Fountain Valley police officer in 1983.
One might question, however, if district attorney investigations might be facilitated if police shooting “victims” refrained from armed escapes from jail before trail.
This, of course, is what Mohon did. He was subsequently arrested in Alabama, following his identification by a viewer of “Unsolved Mysteries.”
Mohon was also charmingly modest concerning his residence, which he listed as “Santa Ana.” Mohon is currently an inmate at the Orange County Jail, awaiting trial on (among others) the charge of attempted murder of a police officer.
