Trunk Trouble
While visiting Roman ruins near Arles, France, the window of our rented car was smashed and my wife’s purse, which she had left in the trunk, was taken. With hindsight, I’m sure that the thieves were in the parking lot, waiting until someone stashed her purse in a car trunk. Some don’ts: Don’t leave valuables in your car trunk. Don’t ever put valuable into your trunk parked in a public place and then leave your car. A thief may be watching. Be especially careful at tourist sites away from inhabited areas.
