An Irvine woman suffered serious injuries when the van in which she was riding collided with another vehicle Sunday morning, but her husband and 10-month-old baby escaped harm, police said.
Patricia Thompson, 31, was in critical condition at Mission Community Hospital in Mission Viejo. Her husband, Scott Thompson, age unknown, was treated for facial cuts and released from Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach.
The Thompsons’ infant, secured in a safety seat, was not injured, police said. Neither was the driver of the other car.
The vehicles collided at 11:47 a.m. at Jamboree Road and Back Bay Drive. Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
