Hearing in Pipeline Case Denied: The Supreme Court on Tuesday denied a hearing in a 15-year-old class-action suit pitting Long Beach and California against oil companies including Mobil, Shell and Texaco. The state charges that the companies conspired to manipulate the price of heavy crude oil at the wellhead and to control the statewide crude pipeline system. The ruling means that the case will go to trial in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles at a time yet to be set. (Filed June 27, 1975; Case No. CV75-2232WPG)
