Valenti Signs On for Five More Years With MPAA: After months of speculation and rumor that Jack Valenti was about to retire as president of the Motion Picture Assn. of America--with names of possible replacements even being bandied about--it was announced Monday that Valenti is signing a new five-year contract. As chief lobbyist of the movie industry, the 69-year-old Valenti has been president of MPAA for 24 years.
