CALIFORNIA IN BRIEF : SAN QUENTIN : Death Row Inmate Stabs His Lawyer

An inmate of Death Row stabbed his attorney with a sharpened toothbrush handle during a visit while several other prisoners and visitors looked on. The lawyer suffered “superficial wounds” to his chest, arm and right ear, prison spokesman Lt. Cal White said. He called the attack “an isolated incident,” and said there is no plan to curtail visiting privileges. The names of the inmate and lawyer were not released.
