Guard Steve Harris, a veteran of four NBA seasons with Houston, Golden State and Detroit, signed a 10-day contract with the Los Angeles Clippers today.
Harris, 26, was signed from the Columbus Horizon of the Continental Basketball Assn., where he averaged 25.5 points, third-best in the league.
Harris replaces Jim Les on the Clippers’ roster. Les had been on two 10-day contracts with the team before being released Monday.
Harris, a 6-foot-5, 195-pounder, was a first-round draft choice of the Houston Rockets in 1985 after playing collegiately at Tulsa. He enjoyed his best season in 1987-88 when he averaged 9.2 points while splitting time with Houston and Golden State.
