Sheriff’s deputies are looking for a man dubbed “The Fridge” and his partner, who robbed a Bank of America branch Friday in Vista, a Sheriff’s Department spokesman said.
Sheriffs received a call at 6:30 p.m. that two men wearing dark glasses and blue baseball caps and shirts had walked into the bank at 330 S. Santa Fe Ave. and handed a teller a demand note. The men escaped with $500.
Witnesses said one of the men, a 6-foot black man weighing around 220 pounds, resembled Chicago Bears football player William “The Refrigerator” Perry. His accomplice in the robbery was a 6-foot-4 black male.
The spokesman said the suspect known as “The Fridge” may have also been responsible for a Carlsbad bank robbery earlier that afternoon.
