Cypress’ Swaino Advances in Tennis

John Swaino of Cypress College defeated Adrian Pina of Cerritos, 6-0, 2-6, 6-2, to advance to the round of 16 in the Southern California community college men’s tennis championships Friday at College of the Desert.
Swaino and partner Bob Carlton also won in doubles, 6-2, 6-2. Swaino won the Orange Empire Conference singles title and paired with Carlton to win the doubles title last weekend.
Saddleback also had two singles players advance to the round of 16. Carl Hinds won, 6-2, 6-1, and Scott Hansen won, 6-0, 6-2, to advance.
Saddleback’s Hinds and Stan Sanders won, 6-1, 6-0, to advance in doubles.
