Villa Park Wins Coin Toss, Softball Title

Villa Park High School became the Century League softball champions Friday, winning a coin toss against Canyon. Both teams finished the season with 8-2 league records, but Villa Park won the coin toss and with it the league’s No. 1 seed for next week’s Southern Section 4-A playoffs. Tournament pairings will be determined Monday.
Meanwhile, Whittier Christian will meet Orange Lutheran at 9 a.m. today at Valley Christian to determine the Olympic League’s No. 3 entry in the Southern Section 1-A playoffs. The teams tied for third place with 8-6 league records.
