Why Those Turkeys Aren’t Good Sports

Rich Roberts’ article, “Tom’s Terrific,” (April 18) should have been in the Metro section instead of the sports section. This is where you read of the bloody attacks, beatings and other acts of mayhem perpetrated on innocent victims. What purpose is served by vividly describing men shooting arrows through turkeys and then chasing them to their deaths? Now is the time to emphasize the preservation of our earth and its creatures.
