Kurt Masur Hospitalized: Kurt Masur, the designated music director of the New York Philharmonic, has been hospitalized at a heart clinic in West Germany. Representatives for the 62-year-old conductor said he had felt chest pains on a flight to Frankfurt last week. They said that he had high blood pressure and a circulatory problem but that he had not had a heart attack. He is expected to be released Thursday and is still scheduled to conduct concerts in Leipzig at the end of the month.
