DIGEST : Thousand Oaks, Hart Duos Bid for Tennis Title

Doubles teams from Hart and Thousand Oaks highs will compete in the Southern Section individual tennis championships beginning at 1 p.m. today at the Huntington Seacliff Tennis Club in Huntington Beach.
The round of 16 and quarterfinals are scheduled for today.
Dan Provenzano and Tony Pangan of Hart will play Billy Hansen and Brad Gibson of Newport Harbor. Sean McKenna and Darren Shindan of Thousand Oaks will play Brett Isaacman and Reza Nilforoushan of Irvine Woodbridge.
Moorpark College sophomore catcher Marcus Lockwood has given an oral commitment to play baseball for UC Davis, Moorpark Coach Ken Wagner said.
John Tomac of Chatsworth remained the top American cyclist overall after Thursday’s seventh stage of the Tour of Italy. He is 95th in the standings, 31 minutes 24 seconds behind leader Gianni Bugno of Italy.
The Flintridge Riding Club will hold its 11th Dressage Under the Oaks competition today through Sunday.
Competition will begin each morning at 9:30.
