Superpowers Aim for Safe Sex

SAN FRANCISCO — Superpower relations are now so close that America is going to help make sex safe in the Soviet Union.
Mayer Laboratories Inc. and Soviet-American Business Opportunites Inc. said Monday they have signed an agreement with the Ukrainian Ministry of Health to make, market and distribute condoms in the Soviet Union.
They expect to make 225 million condoms a year at a factory in Kiev, doubling the number now available annually in the Soviet Union.
