Agent Says No Decision Yet by Riley

Ed Hookstratten, Pat Riley’s agent, Monday night denied broadcast reports that the Laker coach has decided not to return to the team next season.
“Negotiations with NBC have commenced, but no decision as to Riley’s future with the Lakers has been made,” Hookstratten said.
Riley had dinner with Dick Ebersol, president of NBC Sports, and Terry O’Neil, executive producer, Wednesday in New York to discuss joining the network as an NBA commentator.
KCBS’ Keith Olbermann, quoting unnamed sources, reported chances are “slim at best” that Riley will be back.
Riley could not be reached for comment.
