McDonnell Douglas Dedicates Arkansas Plant: McDonnell Douglas dedicated a new aircraft sub-assembly plant in Melbourne, Ark. The 100,000-square-foot building will be used primarily to make aircraft sub-assemblies for the MD-80 and MD-11 commercial airliners, The facility nearly triples the under-roof space at the plant, which opened in 1964.
