Countywide : Supervisor Back at Work After Surgery

Ventura County Supervisor James R. Dougherty is back at work this week after undergoing surgery to remove a benign growth from his vocal cords.
Dougherty spokeswoman Carol Vicary said a bout of illness and hoarseness last month prompted Dougherty to have the outpatient surgery, which was performed last Monday.
The supervisor feels fine now, she said, although his voice has not returned to normal.
“It just depends on how long he remains quiet,” Vicary said.
