Arden Group: The Los Angeles operator of 13 Gelson’s and Mayfair supermarkets in Southern California said second-quarter net income rose 13% to $4 million, while revenue dipped 6% to $83.7 million. The firm operated 15 supermarkets a year ago. Results included a $784,000 pretax gain on the sale of property and a $1.7-million pretax gain on the sale of investment securities.
