Against an 800-meter field that included five finalists of the Seoul Olympics, Kenya’s William Tanui kicked away with 250 meters to go to win at an international track and field meet in Brussels.
Tanui, 26, who started competitive running less than two years ago, won in 1:43.40--the second best time this year behind that of Briton Peter Elliot.
In the 400-meter hurdles, Danny Harris broke the 48-second mark for the seventh time this year, winning in 47.93.
