L’AFFAIRE JENKINS

On July 22, Book Review printed a poignant letter from one Daniel A. Jenkins of Pacific Palisades, to wit:
I am writing my autobiography and would appreciate hearing from anyone who can remember anything interesting or exciting about my life.
Among replies to Jenkins’ cri du coeur were the following letters:
I laughed so hard I couldn’t put two words together for at least five minutes. My husband thought I’d finally gone over the edge. Dan, put that in your autobiography.
