OXNARD : Suspect Arrested in Man’s Shooting

An Oxnard man who was shot in the stomach during an argument Saturday was hospitalized at St. John’s Regional Medical Center, police said.

Ernesto Molina, 42, was taken to the hospital shortly after the 10:36 a.m. shooting in the 200 block of South Garfield Avenue, Oxnard Police Lt. Stan Myers said.

Ramon Barajas, 59, of Oxnard was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, Myers said. Officers were told that the shooting stemmed from a dispute between Barajas’ daughter and Molina’s wife. A small-caliber gun was found at the scene, Myers said.
