The Riverside Press-Enterprise was issued press credentials to high school athletic events that had previously been denied the newspaper by Commissioner Stan Thomas of the CIF’s Southern Section.

Last week, Thomas had informed Press-Enterprise sports editor John Garrett that his paper would not be given credentials because of stories it had published in the last year about on-field football racial incidents. Thomas said he didn’t think the paper could cover Southern Section teams “fairly and accurately.”
